The CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity has released the 2016 Early Care and Education (ECE) State Indicator Report. This report provides information about state efforts to address childhood obesity in the ECE setting.

This first-ever report discusses the “Spectrum of Opportunities”, which outlines 11 unique avenues by which states or communities have successfully changed ECE facilities to improve nutrition, physical activity, breastfeeding support, and reduced screen time among children aged 0 to 5. Additionally the report looks at how states are doing in 7 of the 11 areas.
