In September, the White House will host a Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, the first of its kind in over 50 years. The White House states that its goal is to “End hunger and increase healthy eating and physical activity by 2030, so that fewer Americans experience diet-related diseases like diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.” Learn more about the Conference here.
Healthy Eating Research submitted a comment to inform the national strategy that will be released at the Conference. Our recommendations highlight key evidence-based policy, systems, and environmental strategies that have strong potential to reduce inequities related to child health and well-being, are aligned with USDA’s commitment to advance nutrition security, and should be prioritized by the Biden Administration.
